One of the best things about staying at our Chesterfield Inn is the full country breakfast that we serve every morning. Breakfast is included with your room, and is plentiful and delicious. People who are not staying at the Inn often ask if they can come and enjoy our breakfast as outside guests and we politely decline, saving the pleasure of a leisurely breakfast for our house guests.
Breakfast is served for an hour and a half each morning, and guests are seated in the sunny dining room as they arrive. We start off with fresh brewed Green Mountain coffee and your choice of fruit juices. In a basket on the table is just baked muffins or scones. They might be Lemon Ginger Muffins or Cranberry Almond Scones, or Cinnamon and Sugar Donut Muffins or Apple Streusel Muffins. There is hot oatmeal, house made granola, or Chobani yogurt, if you’d like a lighter breakfast.
Then, for the main course, we feature 2 omelets or a frittata of the day, one with meat and one without, eggs any style, buttermilk pancakes, and French toast. This morning we had a Meat Lovers omelet with bacon, sausage and ham and cheddar cheese, and a Vegetable Frittata with red bell pepper, zucchini, summer squash, spinach and mushrooms with Swiss cheese. The French Toast was made with a Banana Walnut Caramel Sauce, which is the staff favorite! Sides include home fries, bacon, sausage, ham, wheat toast, English muffin and rye toast. No one goes home hungry!

The funny thing about the best skiing when you’re staying at the New Hampshire Bed and Breakfast Chesterfield Inn is that the closest good skiing is in Vermont! Because we are located on the New Hampshire/Vermont border, the Green Mountains are closer to the Inn than the White Mountains of New Hampshire. In fact, Mount Snow, in West Dover,Vermont, is a short 30 minute drive from the inn. There’s plenty of varied terrain at Mount Snow, as well as plenty of snow. The North Face is where the experts ski, with trails as challenging as you’ll find anywhere.
Okemo Mountain in Ludlow, Vermont, is just 45 minutes away, and has lots of deals if you purchase your lift tickets online. Some deals even include lunch! The terrain is varied, and the vibe is friendly.
Stratton Mountain, an hour’s drive from the inn, is a great place to ski or snow board and has a fabulous snow board park where you can work on your moves! They also have a great ski/snowboard school and if you want to relax while your friends are skiing, there’s even a day spa!
So, pack up your skis, find your snow pants and come on up to our New Hampshire Inn to hit the slopes. You can enjoy a cozy evening at the Chesterfield Inn with a delicious dinner, and fall asleep by the light of the fireplace in your room. Get up for a hearty breakfast, and be at the mountain by 9:30 for a full day of skiing. If you come Sunday through Thursday, you can take advantage of our Mid Week Special, get mid week ski passes, and enjoy the uncrowded slopes.
