Brattleboro is known for its beer and breweries! We have enough beer here that you could actually spend the weekend tasting beer and visiting our brew pubs.
Whetstone Station Brewery is a one of a kind place, self described as “an experimental nano-brewery.” They only brew about 6 kegs of beer at a time, never brewing the same beer twice. They also have a huge selection of beers brewed all over the world, and a fantastic view of Mount Wantastiquet to look at while you enjoy your beer and sample their extensive menu for lunch and dinner.
The new kid in town is the Hermit Thrush Brewery, set to open any day now. They will be brewing Belgian inspired ales, using local ingredients, and will have a tasting room and an art gallery on site. I can’t wait to try the “Brattlebeer!”
The oldest brewery in Vermont is McNeill’s, found on Elliott Street in the heart of Brattleboro, brewing beer since 1994. Stop in for a Blonde Bombshell, my personal favorite, or the award winning Dark Angel.
Be sure to plan your stay with us at Chesterfield Inn while you are here tasting the Brattleboro beer and touring the breweries!
