New Hampshire Fall Colors

New Hampshire Fall Colors - GorgeAutumn is a dreamy time in New Hampshire. As the days grow shorter, the crisp air and sunny skies pull you outdoors to bask in the beauty of the orange and red and yellow New Hampshire fall colors. Take some time to drive the back roads, see the old farmhouses and weathered red barns surrounded by ancient sugar maples, oak trees, locusts and evergreens. Pull over and enjoy the expansive views of hills and valleys all decked out in gorgeous fall color. Visit a country store and get some apple cider donuts or sharp Vermont cheddar cheese to take with you. Turn the GPS off and enjoy the serendipity that happens when you when you just follow the road.

If you like to hike, pack your lunch and head for the woods. You’ll get to experience the New Hampshire fall foliage as it surrounds you: white and black birch trunks with yellow leaves hanging from the slender branches, brilliant crimson leaves on the swamp maples, burnished mahogany oak leaves. The Lily Pond Trail in Pisgah Park is perfect on a fall day, as is the more ambitious climb of Mount Monadnock. The panoramic view from the top is stunning. Come to our New Hampshire bed and breakfast, where time slows down, and let nature soothe your cares away.
