For hiking, Pisgah Park is a 14,000-acre park that is a part of West Chesterfield and other nearby towns. Madame Sherri Forest is also close by and a beautiful place to spend a few hours exploring its trails.
For those warmer spring days, a nice refreshing dip might be just what you need, especially after a challenging hike or rewarding bike ride. We recommend cooling off at either Spofford Lake and Ware’s Grove Beach. Anyone up for a round of golf? It’s a favorite springtime activity in New England for many of our guests. They love Bretwood Golf Course in nearby Keene, NH, with 36 challenging holes and the most beautiful backdrops. There are plenty of thrilling activities for the intrepid traveler staying with us, so please don’t hesitate to ask for additional suggestions for outdoor exploration.
Lift Your Spirits
Is all of this talk about outdoor activities making you thirsty? Then quench that thirst at one of our local distilleries! It’s unique experience there are some nearby distilleries that come with our highest personal recommendation. Housed in a three-story barn and only a mile away from the Inn, Copper Canyon Distillery specializes in premium rum and whiskey. Saxtons River Distillery, open since 2006, is a charming little establishment with some delightfully interesting spirits, like their Sapling Maple Bourbon and Snowdrop Gin.
